What is the difference between chicken biryani and dum biryani

Chicken biryani and dum biryani are both popular rice dishes that originated in the Indian subcontinent. However, there are some differences between them.

Chicken biryani is a dish in which cooked chicken pieces are mixed with spiced rice and sautéed with aromatic spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves. The chicken and rice are cooked separately and then combined, resulting in a layered dish with distinct Flavors.

On the other hand, dum biryani is a slow-cooked rice dish in which marinated meat, such as chicken, lamb, or goat, is layered with partially cooked rice and then cooked on a low flame in a sealed pot. The pot is typically sealed with dough to prevent steam from escaping, resulting in a flavourful and aromatic dish with tender meat and fluffy rice.

In summary, the key difference between chicken biryani and dum biryani is the method of preparation, with the former being a mixed dish and the latter being a layered dish that is slow-cooked in a sealed pot.
